Spiral Dynamics is the values development model that is the easiest to understand. I use this model most often in my Substack and often refer to the middle five stages, which represent the vast majority of adults in America.

RED is unrefined, rebellious, and can be aggressive, aiming to protect itself and gain dominance to avoid being dominated. It is vigilant and constantly probing for advantage.

Shadow or dysfunction: Might makes right; Acting on immediate desires
BLUE - Order & Authority (Purposeful/Ethnocentric)
BLUE is self-contained, maintaining order inside strictly defined borders.

YELLOW - Integration & Flexibility (Systemic/Integral)
YELLOW is unique among these stages in that it values and supports the health of all of the stages, integrating their strengths and mitigating weaknesses.
Core Drive: Integration, flexibility, systemic thinking
Mindset: "Different situations require different approaches" - adaptive complexity
Focus: Systems thinking, paradox integration, contextual solutions, natural hierarchies
